Welcome to Rainbow Weddings Queensland!

Updated: Feb 26, 2018

Welcome to Rainbow Weddings Qld where wedding dreams really do come true!

Choosing a Celebrant is a big decision at a very exciting time in your life. I am delighted that you have found me!

I am Julia Lendvai, an authorised Registered Marriage Celebrant based on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, however I service all of the greater Brisbane area including country/regional areas. I am also happy to travel interstate and overseas! I am a current member of The Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants (AFCC), and an active Rainbow Ally.

On 7th December 2017 Australians young, old, and in-between joined together in a historic and momentous event, and shouted a massive YES! to marriage equality. At last LGBTI Australians can now be truly seen as they are; equal in love and commitment.

Every relationship is unique and I strive to ensure that your ceremony reflects what makes your relationship special, including the people, things, beliefs and culture that are unique to you. Your wedding vows are at the heart of your ceremony, they are your opportunity to express the feelings and the commitment that you have for one another, so let’s create a ceremony that reflects your every crazy hearts desire.

Your ceremony should truly reflect you as individuals, as well as your relationship, so to help you create your unique moment, I have a large selection of both contemporary, modern and traditional vows that you can select from, but better still, I can help you with ideas to write your own vows, words that have meaning for the two of you and that identify your unique and special bond.

At the completion of your ceremony, I will present you with a copy of your Marriage Certificate as well as a presentation copy of your ceremony to keep to laugh and cry (happy) tears over in the future. If you'd like a unique rainbow embossed certificate, let me know, we can arrange one for you!

Naming Ceremonies

The birth of a child is a joyous occasion! And a naming ceremony is a wonderful way to celebrate this new life and to welcome your baby into the world in a contemporary alternative to a religious christening or baptism. In our multicultural society, a naming ceremony is the perfect way to celebrate a new arrival with your friends and family who may be from different backgrounds and cultures. It is my role to create a unique ceremony that reflects the values of the parents and the family that welcomes your new baby into the wider community.

Naming ceremonies can also be used as a celebration of adoption or to welcome step-children into an extended or blended family unit. Children of any age may have a naming ceremony and it can take place at any type of venue.

The naming ceremony usually lasts about 20 minutes, during which the parents state their love and commitment to their child and any special hopes they have for their future. Together we can choose the readings, poetry or music you would like included in the ceremony. You might want older siblings to be involved in some special way, or chose a symbolic gesture like lighting a candle or planting a tree. You can create your own special way to symbolise this special moment in the life of your family.

Renewal of marriage vows

Married couples often want to reaffirm their love for one another through a renewal of their vows. I am happy to help create the perfect service for couples that want to relive their wedding, and reiterate their love for one another in front of family and friends. This is a great option for couples who have married overseas but wish to hold another service for family and friends who were unable to make it, or want an opportunity to reflect on their achievements and acknowledge the family and friends that surround them.

Couples often choose to celebrate at key times in their married lives such as special anniversaries or birthdays. A vow renewal ceremony may also be an opportunity to confirm your love and commitment after a particularly difficult time or illness. The ceremony and selection of words are personally designed to suit your circumstances so that the ceremony is unique to you.
